Skint Adventure

We arrived in Knysna this afternoon after a 6+ hour drive from Cape Town. The roads were extremely wet and misty, but this didn't dampen our spirits. On the contrary, the overcast weather only added to the beautiful landscape and I managed to get a few drive by shots on my DSLR. Knysna is our first stopover on our road trip and also our first stay with an Airbnb host. We arrived at Mark&Liz's place and were warmly welcomed by Mary (the housekeeper) and two very friendly and well-behaved dogs. Our first impressions of the place far exceeded our expectations. Our accommodation is a lovely nautical themed room with a large bed, kitchenette, en-suite and lounge area. The kitchen and bar fridge was fully stocked on arrival and thee chilled complimentary wine was especially welcome after a long journey.

We moved from London to Cape Town nearly two and a half years ago and have been calling Cape Town home ever since. During our time here we have seen some of what this beautiful country has to offer, however since we will soon be moving back to Europe we decided to take full advantage of the gorgeous landscape and embark on a road trip of epic proportions around South Africa. Skint Adventure is our little travel blog where we'll be sharing stories from our journey. The initial concept and planning for our South African adventure began way back in August 2014. Our list of stop-overs was extremely long at first and the toughest part was having to scale down and crossing some gems off our map (Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, etc.).
