Planning our city walking adventures

We started this blog a few years back to capture some of our travel adventures on a shoestring budget. With the recent lockdown restrictions as a result of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, we've had to get creative about our adventures, so we decided to spend some time exploring our own city, London.

We've started a Skint Adventure YouTube channel

Since we love walking and travelling on a budget, we thought we’d start filming some of our walks and give you the chance to travel along with us and explore new destinations. We're starting small and keeping it simple, no fancy edits or music, just us exploring on foot and filming everyday life around us with the least amount of video kit possible.

Our filming kit

The thing we're most excited about is being tourists in our own city and discovering new sights, sounds and smells that we may not have encountered before or that we've previously been oblivious to because we've been so caught up in the previously busy hustle and bustle of the city. We're taking advantage of the fact that the city is ridiculously quiet at the moment, with only about 10-20% of the usual foot traffic in even the most central parts of London.

We're also excited about sharing our little walking adventures with the world and having a historical record of what the city is like at this moment in time. It may also be nice to look back at these videos someday when we're grey and old, and rocking our mobility scooters to remember how young and mobile we once were and listen back to some of our old conversations while out walking.

If you fancy following along, subscribe to our Skint Adventure YouTube channel and subscribe to our blog for more photos, reviews and budget travel tips. We're learning as we go, so we'd really appreciate your feedback and comments, as well as new subscribers to help us grow. Thanks for joining us on our journey. đŸ˜‰
